It started with a Sandwich

Ryan's Hinge profile mentioned sandwiches. Ashley took that as her cue to send a like and a comment, as she was also on a journey for a good sandwich. A good back-and-forth and a delayed first date due to Ryan attending a best friend's bachelor party led Ashley to break her internet dating rule; she gave Ryan her number before they had ever met. Normally, you know, stranger danger? But they made plans to meet up at (obviously) a sandwich place for dinner. A quick pivot due to timing, and on May 3rd, 2024, Ryan and Ashley were sitting in Carrera's, eating good (Southern California good) Mexican food across from each other. They instantly felt connected to each other and a clear alignment of the things that matter most to them: enjoying life, loving people well, and reflecting an accurate picture of the God we grew up learning about.

Temporary Tattoos, Hikes, and Ice Cream

Their subsequent dates were full of laughter and connection: 1Up Arcade, ice cream and Razzles on the Plum Creek Trail, a hike in Golden, and bonfire burritos, and giving each other temporary tattoos in Wash Park. Ashley couldn't believe how comfortable she felt having both deep conversation and being the silliest version of herself - something that was hard for her to do on dates early on. But with Ryan, it was different. Slowly their lives and friends started to integrate. Ashley first had Ryan meet a group of her friends at a murder mystery party where he had to dress up as a french man (he doesn't normally wear a beret) who then ended up being the murderer. They loved him anyway. A picnic date at the rock late that summer became a quieter marker in both their hearts of what their hopes were for the future of the relationship.

the i love you

After months of dates intertwining their lives, Ashley and Ryan said "I love you" after attending the wedding of Ryan's cousin Jakayla and Sam on a snowy November day. By then it had felt like a long time coming. Ashley made Ryan promise that this "I love you" meant forever, and it did.

the adventures so far

Since that day in November in 2024, they lived through ups and downs, all while cementing their assurance of love for each other. Little notes on the fridge, silly outfits, trips to meet friends and family on both coasts, concerts, 2 bathroom remodels, an Alaska trip, running a half-marathon together, always a thank you for unloading the dishwasher, a surprise Survivor birthday party, sandwiches, and just a million little reminders of how grateful we are to have each other.

the proposal

Ryan surprised Ashley with a proposal on November 15th, looking out onto the Rock where he first knew he wanted to marry her. BEST DAY EVER.

The best option will likely be to fly into DIA (Denver International Airport). It is about an hour's drive from this airport to the venue.

Want to skip the rental car? This shuttle/public transport goes from DIA to downtown Boulder. You may still need to take an uber / lyft to the venue, but that is about a 10 minute ride from where it drops you. Cost is about $10 per passenger.

For guests staying onsite or overnight, there will be parking spots in front of or nearby your rooms. You will be able to park in these convenient spots after check-in.

For Guests Not Staying On Site

First, if carpooling is an option for you, we do recommend it. There should be enough room for everyone to park on site, but carpooling will help with space, our vendors, and the planet!There are two lots as shown in the image below. The first lot (yellow star) is adjacent to the reception and the ceremony, and will hold most of our guests' cars. The second lot (pink star) is a 5-minute walk from the venue, right around the corner, as seen on the map. Instead of taking the slight right onto Four Mile Canyon Drive, go straight and park in the lot on your immediate left.

My twin sister, my first friend, my built-in anchor. Lauren knows every version of me: the quiet, the unsure, the goofy, the growing, and loves me with a kind of steadiness that only a sister can carry. She’s the one who feels like home no matter where life takes us. There’s no one more fitting to stand beside me as Maid of Honor.

Brad is my older brother by 12 years, which means he has been giving me advice my entire life and still cannot decide what to order at a restaurant. If you have ever seen someone genuinely stress over chicken or steak, that is Brad. He is wildly indecisive but also one of the funniest people I know. More importantly, he has always been a loving, supportive, steady presence in my life. I am lucky to call him my big brother and even luckier he agreed to be my Best Man.

I’ve known Caili practically since the beginning. Our moms became friends, and we’ve been tied together since we were tiny toddlers. We reconnected in middle school, and she has been pure sunshine ever since. She brings warmth, light, and that rare kind of familiarity that only lifelong friendship can hold. She is joy in human form, extends grace without reserve, and I’m honored to have her radiant heart by my side.

Josh and I have been best friends since 5th grade when I introduced myself by offering him hand sanitizer (thank you Purell). A strong foundation. He was the lead singer and guitarist of Syke Ninety Six, the band we kept alive for 12 years on pure commitment and unquestionable talent. He now works for MrBeast, which feels fitting for someone who has always aimed big. We grew up together in Arvada and even though he now lives in North Carolina, nothing has changed except the zip code.

Josh Rock

Kaycee is the friend who held both the quiet and the silly parts of life with me in college. We shared a home, a love for ministry, and late-night episodes of trash TV. She is peaceful, lighthearted, thoughtful, and delightfully goofy. As I moved away our friendship has evolved but remained a stabilizing force in my life. Her presence is like an exhale — gentle, grounding, and fun all at once.

Jay is Josh’s brother and the drummer of Syke Ninety Six. We have been friends since 5th grade, and he has been keeping us on beat ever since. Calm, steady, and far more responsible than the rest of us during our band days, Jay was the backbone of a lot of great jokes and memories (hot dogs). He is also one of the kindest people I know and someone you can always have a real conversation with. We grew up together in Arvada and somehow turned middle school friendships into lifelong ones.

Jessie came into my life during a really dark and complicated season in Florida. She was the friend who stood with me through the hard questions, the big unlearning, and the heavy parts of life. Her presence is grounding and deeply compassionate. She brings a stillness that steadies me, and I’m forever grateful for the courage and clarity she helped me find.

Will and I have been friends since 7th grade, though I'm not sure either of us remember exactly how we met. We both share a love for the outdoors, and as an Eagle Scout, Will takes that commitment a little more seriously than most. One of my favorite memories with him was backpacking through Denali National Park in Alaska, where we nearly drowned in about two feet of water. It was humbling. We grew up together in Arvada, and although he recently moved to New York, he is still the same dependable, funny, outdoors loving guy I have known for years.

Ellie came into my life in Colorado at the start of my teaching journey, and immediately brought color, laughter, and a deep sense of freedom with her. She is the friend who reminds me how fun adulthood can be, who shows up ready for adventure, and who makes every ordinary moment feel like something worth celebrating. She’s been a safe place for me to grow into myself, and I couldn’t imagine this season without her joy beside me.

I first met Riley on the bus when Josh made fun of his skinny jeans. Fortunately, Riley turned out to be one of the coolest guys and we quickly became friends. He is an amateur tattoo artist, motorcycle enthusiast, and proud new boat owner that we are all hoping to benefit from soon. We grew up together in Arvada and now he lives in North Carolina, still fully himself and still someone I am grateful to call a friend.

Jaycee arrived in my life during a season of new beginnings and all the uncertainty that came with them. She quickly became a quiet harbor in the chaos — a confidant, an encourager, and a steady place to land. The way she loves her people is effortless and wholehearted, and her thoughtfulness seems to stretch endlessly. In the unpredictability of teaching, she is both safety and brightness, a gentle light woven into my days. I am so grateful for the friendship we've built and all the years of it still ahead.

I met Jacob in college during Holt’s Building Systems class when he enthusiastically talked my ear off about cycling. That conversation turned into a great friendship. From DU hockey games, to concerts, skiing, and something we called Tour de Franzia, we have made the most of our college years and beyond. He is one of my go to guys for a good time and a good story.

I met Dave after college through our mutual friend Joey. We bonded over skiing, music, and real estate, which basically means we spend half our time on mountains and concerts and the other half talking about houses we probably can’t afford. He is originally from New Jersey, which comes with a strong personality and great stories. Dave has become one of my favorite people to travel, ski, and see live music with, and I am glad our paths crossed when they did.

Caden is my 2 year old nephew and easily the cutest member of the wedding party. He brings unmatched energy, zero stress, and a strong commitment to snacks. He may be small, but he already runs the show and keeps all of us laughing. Having him here makes the day even more special.

Royal Arch in Boulder, Colorado, is a prominent hiking destination and natural sandstone formation within Chautauqua Park. The trail’s steep climb and striking views of the Flatirons make it a cornerstone of Boulder’s outdoor recreation culture, attracting both residents and visitors seeking a classic Front Range hiking experience. The Royal Arch Trail extends roughly 3 to 3.5 miles round trip, with an elevation gain of about 1,200 feet and is considered challenging. It begins near the Bluebell Shelter and ascends through pine forests, switchbacks, and rocky outcrops before reaching the stone arch itself—a natural span of about 20 feet that frames panoramic views over Boulder and the plains beyond. Note: This hike may be considered challenging, especially for out-of-town guests, due to the altitude. Proceed with caution and be sure to bring water. It all started when we came upon an alpine cabin near the base of the flatirons in Boulder. A beautiful old stone cottage with a long history of being a local community center - a place to gather and buy provisions. Smitten by the warmth emanating from it, we envisioned the coziness of this incredible location combined with our love of modern design. We saw the opportunity to create an experience that just made you feel good.
